Water Safety After A Prolonged Shut-down

Stagnant or low-flow water conditions increase the risk for growth and spread of Legionella and other biofilm-associated bacteria. Stagnant water can also lead to low or undetectable levels of disinfectant, such as chlorine. Building owners and managers should ensure that water systems are safe after prolonged shutdowns to minimize the risk of Legionnaires’ and other diseases associated with water.

Premier can help determine your water’s safety by performing a Halogen evaluation to measure the chlorine residual in your water system. Results outside of CDC, AWWA, or EPA guidelines can be corrected through a mitigation strategy.
